Founded in 2010 by Marieke Nijenhuis RSE,B.Sc and Adam Skriver B.Sc, Coastal Cake Company is an expression of their passion for pastry and art.

Inspired by her mother, at fifteen Marieke began working at a tea & coffee house where she started her baking career. After high school and completing a Bachelor of Science in Physical Geography, Marieke chose to continue her culinary pursuits and enrolled in the Baking and Pastry Arts Program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.  Marieke graduated at the top of her class and has since received her Red Seal and served as the Pastry Chef for Great Events Group.  Coastal Cake Co has received the award for Best Wedding Cake form the Vancouver Island Wedding Industry Association 6 years in a row now, and have been featured in Wedding Bells Canada’s Prettiest wedding cakes.

All of our cakes and fillings and made from scratch with quality ingredients such as couverture chocolates, organic fruit, locally sourced free range egg, and Canadian dairy.

We show love to our planet and future generations by composting, recycling and solar. We reduce our plastic consumption and use compostable packaging for our retails goods when possible.

All of our products are made by a Red Seal Pastry Chef in our Vancouver Island Health Authority approved Cake Studio along the Englishman River in Errington, BC.

Small Retail Cakes, cupcakes and cookies are  available At Springford Farm Store! Open Thursday to Sunday 10am to 5pm.
